About the Author
Bettye A. Keyes - CCR, CSR, CVR-M, RVR
Bettye is the reporting industry’s first certified realtime voice writer to develop and author works on speech-recognition-based realtime voice writing techniques and theory.
In 1999, she began learning realtime voice writing independently, at a time when no schools offered instruction in the method. In 2000, she became a Certified Court Reporter through the State of Louisiana and a Certified Verbatim Reporter through the National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA) and earned NVRA’s Realtime Verbatim Reporter certification in 2001.
Bettye has used speech recognition technology throughout her career, having developed training programs across multiple voice writing disciplines and written numerous books on the topic. Her clients have included the U.S. military, corporations, and firms throughout the United States and internationally.
Through her ongoing work, Bettye continues to share methods and ideas that advance voice writing education and support the development of future realtime reporting professionals.
